The Health Sciences Library (HSL) is one of the best medical libraries in the Middle East. It is dedicated to serving the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre Healthcare System (KFSH&RC Healthcare System). It holds more than 22,000 printed books, subscribes to about 7400+ electronic full-text journals titles, and provides access to various electronic databases. The HSL attracts over 80,000 online visitors per year with approximately 13,350 registered users. It is one of the primary resources for health sciences information in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Gulf region.
The HSL supports not only the professional staff of the hospital, but also over 2,000 interlibrary loan requests annually from other institutions in the Middle East. In an effort to organize the non-KFSH&RC users, the HSL membership fee was introduced on April 2003.
